Tracer™ XT, a platform based on GE software technology that improves the performance and efficiency of data centers. Tracer XT was developed in response to data center customer requests for more ways to reduce energy consumption, improve building operations and optimize system management. Energy reduction is more important than ever. The world's data centers are expected to consume 19 percent more energy in the next 12 months than they have in the past year, according to results of a global industry census conducted by DatacenterDynamics. Tracer XT combines Trane industry-leading Tracer building controls and heating, ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) domain expertise with GE Intelligent Platforms' Proficy® Software platform for visualization, advanced analysis and modeling, remote monitoring and diagnostics. This solution also uses Proficy Process Systems for integrated software and high-availability control systems applications for industrial and redundant-control requirements. |

www.TheControlsFreak.com - Straighforward Information on Commercial HVAC Controls and Building Automation Systems. Finally, I was able to find something to video and share with you without 'The Man' jumpin on my back! My fellow colleague Cody was tasked last week with doing the actual retrofit to the HVAC controls on our little package unit for our server closet. I was of course happy to provide some assistance as long as I could squeeze in some video footage etc. I am really proud of putting together these next few videos about the retrofit I hope that you learn something new from them. Questions About Installing Building Automation Controllers This of course is only one simple controller of a single unit, but it still is a new additon to our existing Building Automation System in our building. So, based on what you have seen thus far... What ya got for me?! I've scratched the surface so I know there are questions out there... |

Swapped out the LEDs and bulbs that lit up the stock head unit and HVAC controls. Instead of the ugly green lights, everything is now white essentially. Notification lights (AC button, defrost/recirculate) are all red. Also put in red/blue LEDs around the temp knob and the knob changes color according to position. Also took out the mechanical linkage that connected the AC button to the defogger positions on the selection knob. Now the car only flips on the AC when the AC button is pressed (as opposed to always selecting AC when the defogger positions are selected). |

HVAC/Air conditioning Auto Controls offer control system by Wireless Door Magnetic Sensor, PIR Wireless Ceiling Sensor and Receptacle to control the conditioner auto on/auto off, then can save energy and make the air conditioner more intelligent. Energy saving device, in a "nut-shell" permanent duplex receptacle attaches to the wall and receives signals, door and ceiling sensor transmits signals, when occupants leave the area, ceiling and door transmits signals to permanent duplex receptacle tell it no occupants in the area, receptacle turns HVAC unit off. In a cooling setting, if room temperature reaches 82 degrees the ceiling thermostat transmits another signal to turn HVAC on then off again when room reaches 79 degrees. Same function for heating range between 57 degrees - 60 degrees. |

As an HVAC control contractor with decades of experience, Carl Keller knows what he's talking about - and he believes that most building automation specialists are only doing half the job they could be. Implementing HVAC controls brings efficiencies to 45% of a building's average energy use - but what about the 40% used by a building's lighting? With some new technologies and a small learning curve, traditional control contractors can integrate lighting controls into an overall energy-saving strategy for their buildings. In this introductory video, Carl Keller and alpscontrols.com lay the foundation for total building automation. |
